George's Market at Dreshertown

We ordered the chocolate chip layered cake with buttercream frosting from shop n’ bag and it was truly INCREDIBLE!! I have always been a huge cake person and this cake was one of the best I ever had. Even people who attended my event that aren’t “cake people” loved it and were asking to take some home. Rachel and the team at the bakery were so easy to work with and designed such a beautiful cake for my wedding ceremony. I highly recommend!!

Terrible experience at George’s. This is my second time here. I ordered a cake for a rehearsal dinner. The price is listed as $26.99 for a half sheet. When I was going thru the order with the baker, he asked me if I wanted the pound cake. I said yes. When I just came to pick up my order, the name was spelled wrong and the price is $39.99. When the girl came back with my cake after she fixed it, she immediately gave me attitude and said “I’m not a cake decorator” and it was obvious. Management came over and resolved absolutely nothing so I had to leave with a more expensive cake that looks terrible.

While I'm not a Dresher local, I've come to love George's Market after many visits to the store when spending time with my in-laws in town. I cannot rave more about George's bakery and how they made my wedding so special!! First, the cake they baked for my shower was not only delicious (cannoli cake!) but beautifully decorated. My mother-in-law brought them the shower invite and they copied the flowers on it to perfection. This gave us the idea to ask them to make our wedding cake. We were struggling to find someone to agree to our dream wedding cake: tiered chocolate chip cookie cakes with vanilla buttercream in between. Bakers in Philly, Bryn Mawr and beyond were either outrageously expensive, could not deliver the cookie cake, were frankly negative about how it would turn out, or, I think, too intimidated to give it a try. Not George's!! They did not hesitate to make it happen. Our cookie cake was DELICIOUS, reasonably priced and delivered on time. Guests raved about it and were eager to eat leftovers (George's also made us a large cookie cake sheet iced with buttercream flowers) the next morning for breakfast at the hotel. My mom coordinated the order with Rachel, and my husband and I learned that Joyce was the decorator. We did not get a chance to meet the baker. But THANK YOU to the whole bakery team at George's for this beautiful and delicious detail at our wedding! We'll be back for more.
